I put it up on jack stands today.......you wouldn't believe how fn' cool the quick change whine is.

Here are some pics of what I did with the upper windshield posts. I ordered a 3" chopped windshield and got 2" chopped posts. I wanted the windshield to lay back more than stock but not too much so it looked broken. I ended up laying it back 7 degrees more than stock. I also chopped the inch out of the stanchions and made sure the post on the top was straight up so the top will still work when I get to that point. I had a problem with the windshield hitting at the point where the upper and lower stanchions joined. I ended up putting a flat washer under lower stanchions where they bolt to the body to "tip" them out slightly and that gave me about an 1/8 inch or so on each side. I think I will try another set (brand) and see if they will work without being shimmed out.

I used my mig welder to do the work and stainless wire with the standard CO2/Argon mix. They recomended the trimix gas but I figured I would not need it for the little amout of welding I was going to do. Here is the finished product. It was actually pretty easy but working up the nerve to make the first cut was the hard part.

A little more boaring but I also got the front spreader bar bolted in and the V8 mounted on the headlight bar last week. Sounds easy but the V8 emblem was a pain.

A little O/T, but that sound is why asphalt circle track racing is cooler than dirt track racing. Makes a person smile. . .

 Is it just me or does that car seem so perfect its like . . not real? Like a dream or something. It sits up in that category with airbrushed supermodels. Very nice, but almost off my radar cuz i'll never have one, right?

the interior will have a Lebaron Bonney kit.

People often ask me how I can build a car so fast and I always tell them that you have to do something on the project every day no mater how small. I am in Minneapolis tonight for a work meeting tomorrow. Before I left I looked for something I could get done in the hotel room.............

I got the mess cleaned up but I took two of the center caps with and got the sanding done on them. I started with 320 wet went to 600 wet and finished them off with 1000 wet. They are now ready for the buffing wheel. I did bring a towel with so I don't get charged for one. :) The middle photo shows the before and after. They were tumble polished which made the job alot easier.
