Well, we finally did it. Many of you know this car, and its history and our plans to get her back on the road.
I'll let the pics speak for themselves...

Outstanding!!  As a two-door long roof affectionado, I've been wondering if you would put it back on the road.  That's great....what are the general plans?

Wish I could get someone to clean up my mess.......?

Yeah, its getting a 80s 302/AOD. Thats the main part. While its out, I want to clean up the engine bay and paint it all. Oh, and brakes would be nice option. (It was interesting coasting it down the hill and into the garage without brakes!) We would like to find a narrower rear end for it so it can get lowered and still be able to remove the tires. Right now with the stock size bias plys, it is a major pain without it being lowered. Figure out a better setup to lower the front. Get that done, theres lots of cancer to repair. The quarters are needing help, rockers and front fenders need replacing, and a couple patches in the floor. VERY mild shave, emblems and thats about it. Then on to PAINT! I've got ideas. It will rule.

I see it's at dad's place, that should be a good thing, right?? Should beat the hell out of the fair weather garage.

Get it running good 1st. ( motor, brakes ect. ) and if you run out of money or time hang the old sheet metal on and go!!!

I agree with Tom.  Looks like a fun project and I'm excited (and suprised) to see it started so soon!  I didn't think you were going to get to it for a while! (per btt50's conversations)  hopefully we'll see another update in the coming months!

Well, another week of progress. This is the time where it looks like a LOT of work done in short order. Now it will be all the cleaning up and mocking up. The crap nobody notices but needs to get done.

Even got Mom to help!

Steering out thanks to Eyeball Tech line. And start of the lifting the body. Did you know these cars have 22 mounting points on them!

We decided to go BIG BLOCK! :D

Higher...

and higher...

until

and

are separated!

Even got to gut the inside.

Next is a trip to Schefters and then figure out the plan for suspension.

What do you guys think of this, no Caddy caps, tho. Darker green than it was with a white and abalone flake roof.

The Caprice is still at Driven, the plan is to work on that during the week, and work on the Ford when I go back home.
Yeah, we want to do this thing right. There are so many things that I cut corners on with the Stude. I vowed I would NEVER build a car that way again.
