.  I haven't seen "Fish Scales" (other Ryans paint) since I put them on my Falcon Ranchero in '76. Thanks for the thread.  Jake

Tom, did you drive the 'vert down this year?

Yes I took the vert, except for the two days of serious head wind, making for lots of wind noise,  going down and back it worked geat. Would have like to have gone to Plowboys party Sat night but we needed to get back. Left the grounds at 4PM and were at my house 8AM Sunday. Had no intentions of driving straight through, it just sorta happened. I35 and 494 through the cities at 1:30, 2 in the morning is a breeze . I have had that car on the road for 22 years, first  time I road in the back seat. Even managed to fall asleep back there!!

One of the other drivers after driving it for a few miles said “this doesn’t have a mustang front suspension dose it? “ I said no, 72 Trans Am. He could tell cause his `36 has the mustang, he seemed to like the vert’s better.

This was the last Pile-UP so I don’t have to think about it, but I’m not sure if I would go that far again for a one day show. We went to Clinton for the Friday night pre party and maybe it would have help if we didn’t need leave that early on Sat, but that extra difference between Morris and Decatur seamed to make the trip that much longer. I also think the car count was down. In the past we would start to let cars in at 9AM and when we were done with our shift at 11 they were still coming in. This year by 10:30 there was no one waiting in line.

Oh yeah......... Jr. Brown on the stage help too.

Thinkin’ about checking out the Symco Shakedown, but it looks like it might be the same time as  Speed Week.

Thanks for sending me down a spiraling pit of depression knowing that I will now never be able to attend this run.

On a happier note, thanks for the pics!  Looks like it was a great time!
