....and i call it tetanus!
« on: August 24, 2010 10:50 am »
hi everyone, i finally figurd out how to post on here, so here it goes. this is my 1929 A special coupe. I have almost got it done, just a ew things left to wrap up. wantd to take it to sabin in july but money and time got short. still need some ideas for tail lights for tetanus, so open to suggestions, but dont want the run of the mill tail lights. ant something different for it. for those out there that r going to rumble about the motor being a chevy, sorry it was in the donor car i got and "thats all i got to say about that" plus i think the manifold makes the car. this is the first rat i have built, kinda different for me and dont know the ins and outs of straight axles yet. please bare with me.

Neat car, I like your dash and the rear radiator setup. The whole package looks mean. Nothin' rat about it (the term is basically forbidden anyway), its just not finished yet. You're little more than a paint job away from a badass drag coupe! The intake would "make the car" on a first-gen Camaro vintage Trans Am racer. You need some deuces man, and lots of 'em!! Or dual quads? Lookin' Good!

It looks great, I like the intake too. The body on your coupe is so nice it is a shame not to paint it. Your front wheels are my all time favorite.....some day I will have a pair of them.

Looks like you are running a Model A axle? and what rear is in it?
soaken wet shoes and winkled fingers...

yeah i am using the axle that came with the car but i have to redo it. the rear end is out of a 80 malibu. i used the arms, coil springs and shocks from it, it was my donor car. dont know if it is any good still yet, or if ratio is what i am looking for, havent took the cover off yet to see. the whole painting thing is up in the air but if i did body patch panels then i would have to paint it then i would have to worry about stupid people dinging it up and scratching it. plus the licsence plate says tetanus on it. I got a 30 sedan also and that is going to be painted. this is for driving and the sedan is for shows. this will keep me from driving the sedan. i sold my 69 pick-up cause some idiot teenagers went and shot it with a bb gun years back 3 days after i got it painted.

I think those are 1949 or 50 Hudson.  I've had a set on my shelf for about six years now, just waiting for the perfect application.  I've seen them on A's before and they do look nice.  If I remember right, the contour on the back of the surround doesn't quite match but it is easily fixes with a little grinding.  Or I always thought they would look nice frenched in a couple of inches.

Nice coupe by the way.  I really like the front end setup.  Any plans to chop it?
