Took the front spring out of the '35 this weekend.  Tore it apart and reversed the eyes by pressing the main leaf flat first and then reversing the bend to match the old arc.  Used a press. Got all the info from a couple posts on the HAMB.  Also took out three leaves.  Ended up with the front 2" lower.  Just what I was after.  Worked pretty well and nothing seems to be too close to bottoming out.  Forgot to take pics before and during, but here's the spring after reversing and the car alot lower in front.   :D

Thanks guys.

Next is jerk out the radiator and see if I can rebuild it to hold 5 to 7 lbs. pressure.  Hoping to make it cool better.  While it's out rebuild the water pumps & generator, clean up the motor, check the points and rotors, etc.....

Thats the same way I did my spring fer my "T". I couldnt believe how easy it was...35 looks great by the way.

Your shop is one of the first on my list to visit once the snow melts and the '40 is on the road again.  What's the deal with the (marker?) line on the rear fender- is there going to be some reshaping going on?

That's the possible shape of skirts in the future.  And you don't have to wait till the snow is gone (that might be a while)....the fridge is always stocked.  I wondered if you and Pete had dissapeared???

I'm getting close to having the engine bay and motor "40's fresh" looking....pics in a few days....

Here's what I've been working on this winter.  The engine bay of the '35.  I tore off most everything that unbolted and scraped, wire brushed and cleaned it all and painted.  Installed new points, distr. caps, plugs, plug wires, much of the wiring,hoses, belts, had the rad. cooked and checked, put in that rad. check valve.  I swear the car is at least 50 lbs. lighter after all the crud I've scraped off the underside and engine bay.  I took it for a little ride this afternoon.  Still runs good!
