Don't look so bad from the air. I don't know at what point the pic was taken.

Why would there be two seperate fires, maybe some SOB did start them!!!

My dad and I were talking to Allen a couple months ago and he stated that he thought it wouldn't be long until they shut him down.  The EPA has been knocking on his door pretty hard I guess and more so because he is so close to the heart river.

Thanks for the update Reed.

Maybe on accident?

I can see how a person trying to torch parts out could have started them on accident. I've almost caught dry seats in old trucks on fire torching out brake and dash components. I suppose the ground is kinda wet though to start a big fire. Weird. That is a big ass wrecking yard!

Wonder if that huge stack/row of bales caught on fire!

Where do we sign up?

We'll have to wait and see what happens.  I was told the EPA was down there assessing the situation.  Since it is close to town and on the Heart river, federal regs could be bad for the business staying there.  They were already in the process of cleaning and moving cars away from the river bank in the last year.  I don't think I'll be able to get down there for quite a while.

I still have some spots that I can go for a junkyard fix, but Johnsons is really handy.  I see a new business opportunity--"overspray's junkyard tours".  I could get some busses and equip them with tools and trailers to haul parts and book tours to my favorite yards in the midwest.  Just like "Casino Tours" for gamblers.  We could give out free hand cleaner samples and woodtick repellent instead of rolls of quarters.

Yup---I'll have to think on this.............
...And if you call in the next 20 minutes, cause we can't do this all day...

One of the mechanics from work was over there, the only way you can go out back is with an employee . This guy said "even me? I have been coming here for 20 years". He was talking to Brian .......and he said " Allen said everybody". He estimated half the lower yard got burned and most of it has been hauled out.
