Another piece of legislation that NDSRA members helped initiate and get passed was the elimination of the front licence plate. That rule includes any car 40 yrs. old or older I think.
The SR in NDSRA, just like MSRA, doesn't limit the members to only street rods (pre '49). I would guess that members with '48 and older rods are probably fewer in numbers than the rest in both organizations.
NDSRA doesn't sanction any runs or shows in the state, but does have "NDSRA Picks" at several runs in the state (chosen by voting of NDSRA members attending the run) from which the Pick of the Year is chosen by a vote of the members.
NDSRA has a board of directors voted on (railroaded) by the membership at the anual meeting. The board is made up of a Pres., VP, Sec., Treas, and 5 regional directors. The board helps spread the word about "old cars" to the general membership.
It has always been a loose run, but fun association to be a member of. Like any other association, a few do much of the work so many can enjoy a get together like was held in Valley City this past Saturday. And it is always enjoyable to get together and visit with people with like interests from around the state and region.
Yes, the garage tour may not have had the cars or work garages that we all like to see; and the business meeting may not have had any breaking news or excitement; but it was good just seeing and visiting with car friends and aquaintances that we only get to see once in a while.
NDSRA, just like MSRA, good bang for the buck.
