Been having problems posting too.

According to Mr. Eyeball back in the day they would run one size bigger on the back. If that the case that’s  what I have done. 5.25 x 16 in the front, 6.00 x 16 in the rear. But your right I wish they were at least 6.50 or 7.00.

that car still needs 700s or 750s...  although the deuce frame makes it look a little lower.

Looks good Tom. Maybe whatever isn't making you happy will grow on you. If you're going to paint it evenutally, it may look better with paint? What about the look don't you like? The amount of tire filling the rear wheel well? The skinny fronts?
I'm not sure what you're going for, but most of the cars i've seen with those running board aprons (is that what they're called?) from back in the late 40's had taller tires all the way around, and definately in front. I don't think most of those cars in the pics had white walls either and they looked cool.

I don't know if you've ever been to www.ahrf.com, but in the "photo gallery," under "hot rods" then under "roadsters" there are quite a few pics of good looking 28 roadsters with aprons. May help inspire. Its a great website.

I got the authentication failure too.

I'm guessing back in the day they ran as big a tire in the rear as they could afford for the top end  if thats what they were after ...and most likely I'd guess the majority just used what they could get (kinda like I still do)hahaha (what a tight ass I am) and if they got lucky and it looked good it was the new trend....just my observations from some of the old dudes I've talked to.

some things never change right? I'd love to just call coker and buy a few sets of tires of all different sizes and just play. I certainly don't want 6.0's all the way around!! I'll get some good tires eventually. Hopefully before I drive the car. Do people sell tires at the pileup?

I had some I sold in the swap meet last year. I don't remember seeing a vendor that sell new tires.
