You guys are so loving; I'm speechless. The "a little different" comment is a compliment, thank you.
I just want to see if a banjo can hold up cuz they look so damn cool. So, has anyone actually seen a banjo break with a 394, or is all this just heresay? Which part breaks the most; the axles? Didn't that slingshot dragster at Toppers have a friggin' hemi in it? What rearend did the driver set his nuts on top of? Yes, a 1940 BANJO!!! Some of the old guys I talk to say they're tough, so we'll see.
And I'm not saying it'll work either, I'm HOPING it works The automatic trans won't spike load the rearend like a manual would, and I'm hoping the 20 year old 4" wide bias plys will slip most of the time instead of breaking stuff. You'll all get front row seats at the old banjo's abilities. And if it breaks on the roadside, you might even get to help me fix it if you're really lucky. I have spare axles!
