I got the block from a mate, it is a virgin 8BA block. I then dropped it in the molasses and it came out like this. the water jackets were really clean. I think the fact that I dropped a spare fish tank heater in helped, as it kept the tank at about 90F or 35C all the time.
soaken wet shoes and winkled fingers...
hours and hours
inch at a time...

nice and clean.  I am on day two of the vinegar test, i will be posting pics of how that works.

thank for the info. i like the info on the tank heater, that makes sense. hope to have my flathead bathing in molasses soon.
