I got the rear hung in the car yesterday. Just isn't low enough yet. I hope they will settle out after they have been on the car a while. The car sits with a slight rearward slope according to the level but I would like the whole car about 2" lower. I can always resort to tractor weights in the trunk I guess. :)

i bet once everything is in the car, plus your gas you will be adding a couple hundred pounds, that will bring it down.  looks good.

what kind of springs are you running the back jamco?

I was thinking of going with jamco springs in my ford but I cant get my rear low enough either...  I have weight in the trunk in the pics but the car is empty...  4" blocks and 2 leafs to get it down untill i get the spring.

the spring is flat in the back and I need to figure out how to get it 2" lower too... but that would reverse the arch on the spring.  

how else would they have dont it back in the day?  I'm going to C-notch my rear frame and lift the tunnel...

They are Jamco springs. I was planning on notching the frame and raising the tunnel too but I still have about 2.5" between the axle and frame. Like Dallas said when that 460 hits the frame the front is bound to drop some so I hope the rear will settle to. I plan to notch the frame and raise the tunnel in anticipation of it being lower.....one way or another it will and without bags this time.

I know that glassguy is running 3" dearched spring in the rear with 6" blocks......I am not willing to put that big o'ones in mine.

damn 6" blocks I think are too much we did that on tokyos merc and they bend from the leverage its too much block isnt it??  I think they say 4" is the max.

did you see that post brickster did on his shoebox c notch?? very cool heres a pic i saved from a couple years ago.

Wow that looks nice. I wish I had to cut that much out but I think a small c nothch with some pipe will do the trick.

ok now I got to thinking damn it...

what if you did run a 6" block-
wouldnt that change the driveshaft angle a little
ok...
but what if you used 2x6 stock but made it wider on the bottom than on the top like a triangle with a flat top?

im thinking of spreading the leverage out- what if you made the spring pad on the rear end wider too?  instead of say 4" you made it 6"?

just make a safer 6" block, that would be the way a dude wouldve done it back then vs. setting up a 4 link and coilovers.

HUH...

what do you think?

I think the main problem will be with the ubolt hitting the ground. One of my tires went flat last night and the ubolts hit the ground. With 6" blocks you better hope you don't get a LOW tire!

hey i think im going to move the spring on the inside of the frame, not a easy deal but easy enough to do while I cnotch the rear frame...

i dont know why i didnt think of this option...

thanks for the pic btw, you could make a skid plate for that bottom plate...  that way it wouldnt take off your nutzz
