Roadster swap
« on: October 17, 2005 5:03 pm »
Who all went to the roadster swap and what kinda smokin deals did ya all get ? Should have went but to much to do. Ended up going out to Walkers for a turbo 350 for my parts hauler, and got another Stromberg 97 thrown in on the deal for free. Now I got enough carbs for my two duece manifold for the flatty, and a couple left over for parts. Couldn't believe his generosity. Later Weed

I sold 32 deck lid, anglia setup, and other misc. parts.  that swap was HUGE.  One thing about that place ya gotta buy it when you see it, otherwise it will sell or you just wont find where it was at.

I sold alota junk. Picked up 4 nice '53 caddy caps, a caddy air cleaner, one 710*15 WWW and a 1950 Merc back glass. It was fun, I love selling at swaps, just wish I had more to sell!

There is what looks to be a '56 Packard at a small garage on #10 on the south side just a few miles before DL. At least from 100 yards and at 60mph, it looks like a '56 Packard.

I have a question for those who went to the pile-up and the roadster swap. Which would chose if you could only go to one???

I didn't go to either, but I would suppose it would all depend on what was up that year.  If I needed parts or to sell parts, I'd hit the swap meet, if I wanted a good time, I'd hit the Pileup...

But like I said, I didn't go to either, so I've got a different view of them.  ;-)

I have been to both, not the same year, but it would have to be the Pileup.
