Who's going to Bonneville?
« on: June 09, 2009 4:21 pm »
Been throwing it around.....again! Just wondering who is all going from around here.  Tom, I think you're going. Right?  Heard a few other on here talking about it.  I checked on rooms and there still seem to be a "few" left.  Most seem to be scarfed up already.  Thought about camping at the bend but don't own a camper and tenting for a week doesn't sound all that great.  Just so I have the dates correct.  They are Aug. 17-21.  If this isn't correct let me know. Thanks in advance.
...And if you call in the next 20 minutes, cause we can't do this all day...

the ACME speed shop guys[ youngest 55 yr old and oldest is 83} are taking a big bus to Bonneville and are going to pit for  a couple cars we were down to Richfield and bought a Mercury a couple weeks ago and met some of the guys on their club,      so say hellow to them from the guys from Ada Mn

they may not make a 20 second pit stop but they seem pretty persistant and are surely are  some resourcefull craftsmen

they told us
that they were going to help a couple of other people out

they have a 68 to 72 Chev bus with diesel power and will be living in it on the salt
should be painted a blue color  it was under destruction a couple weeks ago but many bodies were slowing putting it together for the trip to Bonne
thats all I know
technology may have escaped these guys, the guy we got the car from did not even have axcess to a cell phone, but could build a quite decent car with a minimum of tools and money

Oh, just peachy. Learning Arabic, working with Iraqis. Took incoming mortar fire last night, hung out in a bunker for awhile, good times!!
