I got all the new pads installed, everything cleaned up, all the Flathead Ted parts in, drums turned, new wheel studs (longer to accept the spacers being made so I can use regular wheels), bearings packed, new grease zerks (including the rear axle ones - thanks), all reinstalled, three connecting rods all adjusted with new supports, and looking to a 6pm test drive last night when on the last connecting rod (LR) things went south.
Broke the end off the connecting rod! No big deal...I'll just take it off from the other end like I did the fronts and weld a bolt on the end....NO!! The front end of the rear rods is a real headache to get at...Up high in front of the X. And the pin is not budging....So after swearing quite a while, I juiced it up good, and had a beer and cigar! So I'll look at it fresh tonight and hopefully at least get it apart. Looks like both rear rods need to have the front ends rebuilt and a new pin.
