Simonson Stude circa 1961
« on: June 06, 2008 3:37 am »
This is courtesy of "50 years of Rod & Custom".

Quote: "October 1961 - From an article titled "The Lure of the Salt", John Simonson's Hemi-powered Studebaker is ready to be pushed off for it's record attempt."

It also was an inset photo on the cover of that issue.

(note the push truck is a '57-60 Ford)

I seem to remember it with more color. Some red accents or something and some gold leaf also.  But I haven't seen it for about 10 years or so.

When I saw that car in high school, never did I think I would make it to B-ville. Life is good!!

Isn't that car down at NDSCS somewhere?

I hope so. Beautiful.

John still owns the Stude. It was just painted by Rydells guys in the toy shop.
