F-1, F-100, desireable parts for Model A's & T's?
« on: March 07, 2007 11:59 pm »
Alright, so I got some F-1's and F-100's and some larger F-250s and F-350s.  This summer I'm gonna work on cleaning up the farm a bit, stripping what useful parts I can and scrapping the rest.

Originally I was just going to yank the engine, transmissions, and rearends, straight body panels, and good glass.  Then sell the rest for scrap.

But I've seen posts come up for steering boxes and other chassis stuff off of them, what all is worth saving from that?  And on the F-250s and F-350s, will any of that be the same?

Also some hoods like 57 and 58's have the ribs for roof inserts. The steering box in my T is from a two ton truck. Steering wheel is from a 47 1.5 ton, a four spoker. Also hydraulic clutch set-ups.  In other words keep the whole dern truck...hahaha, words from a junky

Thanks for the info, and I would keep the whole thing, but alot of them are just the front clips with cab and fenders, as the back half was used for trailers, and I'm going to get back into cattle so I'll need the pasture land.  I got plenty of old grain bins that arent used anymore that I am storing parts in so I'm not gonna throw anything away that'd be useful to somebody.

Thats probably the best cab I got.  The other two are just the cabs and been sitting in the dirt, and off-hand I'm not sure if they are 56's or not.

Best way to tell a '56 from 53-55s are the vent windows. 53-55s have a triangled vent window. 56s are rectangle and the windshield posts are straight up and down.
