Tranny help needed...
« on: February 15, 2007 9:44 pm »
Ok, so one of my buddies at work has a 1998 Nissan Frontier 4x4 pickup with a 5sp manual tranny.  He's been told that it's in need of a new tranny.  Can anyone recommend a tranny shop or know of someone that could do the work on the side to rebuild it?  Every shop he's called in town and even the bone yard is quoting him $1500-2000.

He's to the point that he's just going to junk it and get a different car, but doesn't wanna spend that kinda cash either.  Any suggestions?

There is a guy on bismanonline that usually has a bunch of big three transmissions listed that I am assuming he rebuilt, cause he advertises them as rebuilt.

Might be worth a shot?
