Right now its still running the original drive line 216/3spd. I have a chassis that will sooner or later be going under it 81 el camino 350/350. Right now I am planning on keeping it a driver (which it is) and doing all my cutting and such before I swap chassis. Not sure ill have the time to do all I want and still swap out the chassis before 50s

Heres a few new pics of what I am doing during my my little vacation.  I spent the day moving the A pillars forward and making sure the roof and the A pillars are the right hight and aligned with the rest of the roof . Every thing is looking good all sitting the same hight from side to side and centered  . In the pictures the door windows look larger then the rear sides that is because the doors do not have the tops on yet . Still alot of cutting and welding left but its coming quite well and of course the way I wanted it .

The cutting is fun but the best part is setting it back on. The worst part (at least for me) is the finish welding.....no scratch that it is the finish grinding that sux.

Are you keeping the vent windows?

Eye welding  and grinding aint a prob for me its more boring then sucky I do it everyday all day at work lol. I havnt made a decision on vent windows yet never done them before . one little cool thing is bunch of the guys in my club said I would have to cut and fit the A pillars but they match right up. Just so you know Ive chopped before but Ive never done a turret top only A's

I kept the vent windows on mine. I cut them to fit, welded them together and then painted them black.

I thought I would give everyone who is interested an update on how my chop is doing. Well Ive been on vaca since christmas and have gotten alot done . I took a day making sure all measurements are the same from side to side and that it is sitting level and centered .At this point I have moved the A-pillers forward and welded them I also have welded the C-pillers and Began welding in the roof section I had to add when moving the A=pillers forward. Both sides of the roof from the  door frame to the drip molding and 6" up have been welded in but I havnt put in the piese that goes from side to side.(all the time measuring and clamping checking and rechecking before I welded any thing). I still have alot of work to do but its coming along really good . I still have to lay the rear window so the roof lines stay looking right. The roof lines at the C-pillers look great by the way. I also have to move the B-Pillers forward and add the window frame to the rear lower corner of the rear side windows . But its coming along really good . I have 7 1/2" of glass showing on the sides and 9" on the windsheild. I posted a few new pics the other day from before any welding but after I had cut the roof and moved the A-pillers forward (before welding). So anyhow Ill post more pics AFTER I grind the welds
