As you are aware, the Viva Las Vegas Car Show has become a massive success. So much so that we are amazed. 2005 had an unbelievable number of people. For everyones enjoyment of the show we have had to introduce a number of changes which we are sure the majority of you will be happy with. Here are the main points:

- The show will move to the ground floor lot behind the hotel and will be fenced in.

- All cars must be pre-64.

- All cars will need to be pre-registered. If you have booked a wristband for VLV9, registration will be free. Registration can be done at the time of booking your wristband. If you have already booked your wristband, no problem. Email us and we can add your car to the booking. Or go to https://vivalasvegas.net/intranet/booking_login.php

- On March 12th, 2006, if there are any spaces left, people without wristbands can register cars at $20 per car, but this is subject to availability.

- Anyone with a wristband will have access to the parking lot all weekend. Anyone without a wristband will only have access on the Saturday and that includes those who pre-register cars but do not have a wristband.

- Pedestrians can pay to get into the car show on Saturday only for $5 between 9am and 4pm. This will include a voucher for a free drink at the bar in the car show or any of the bars in The Gold Coast. If you have a VLV wristband, that will get you into the car show for free.

- No one can take in any glass bottles, glasses or containers.

- People with VLV9 wristbands who have registered cars may park their cars from 6pm on the Thursday. Those without wristbands who have registered cars may park from 7am on the Saturday,.

- Between 10am and 4pm on the Saturday, no cars may be moved.

- No dogs are allowed.

- Pre-63 motorcycles are allowed as long as they are in the style of a motorcycle from that era.

- The car show is 9am to 4pm on the Saturday. Outside those hours no loitering will be permitted in the parking lot.

EVERYONE WITH A VLV9 WRISTBAND WHO ENTERS A CAR IN THE CAR SHOW WILL BE ENTERED INTO A DRAWING. THERE WILL BE THREE PRIZES, EACH OF $500 CASH DONATED BY THE GOLD COAST HOTEL.

THE GOLD COAST HOTEL AND/OR TOM INGRAMS ROCK'N'ROLL WEEKENDERS INC WILL NOT ACCEPT LIABILITY FOR CARS ENTERED IN THE CAR SHOW. OWNERS PARK IN THE CAR SHOW AT THEIR OWN RISK.

FYI airline tickets can be had through Orbitz from Minneapolis for $230 which I think is the same or less than we paid last year.

Excellent.  I wonder if this airline straight shot from Fargo deal will pan out or not?

That's funny, we were just looking into this tonight as well.  We are thinking of going the 12th and back on the 20th, just to allow a couple additional days to explore the city a little more again.

hello everyone, for those that are going to attend the VLV car show i just thought i'd fill you in with all of the information and updates.

as of this week there are close to 300 cars (all wristband regsistrants) that are pre registered for the car show. there is also a dozen motorcycles pre registered.

i know i touched on this before but again, here are the basic rules.

car show registration will open up to everyone (even those that choose not to partake in the indoor activities) in a week or two.

registration is easily done at www.vivalasvegas.net simply go to the car show section and click on "car show registration" if it asks you to fill in a "log on name" simply put anything and it will allow access.
you must fill in your name, license number, the type of car/bike ,(including the year of it) , and a couple of other things. pretty simple.

all cars must be pre 1963. this means 1962 and older (i know, but you'd be surprised).

all motorcycles must be pre 1963 . (space is very limited)

admission is $20.00 per car without wristband . with wristband it is free.

with wristband you have access to the car show all weekend.

without wristband you only have access saturday (day of the show) from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

NO glass bottles allowed in show area. guys, dont even try and bring them in. it aint worth it. plastic cups are better and it will make everyone feel safer.

anyone caught doing burn outs, doughnuts, throwing objects (including glass bottles) will be removed from the show.

NO dogs.

like every year beer, soda's,water, hot dogs, and chips will be sold outside.

car show will no longer be on the top parking lot.
instead it will be at ground level next to the goldcoast . this is where RV's usually park.

*three $500.00 cash prizes will be given out by the gold coast*

*trophies will be given out by the shifters*

there will be many vendors, many special displays, and special guests.

*live dj's spinnin records all day*

for those who enjoy real music here are just a few of the many bands performing inside.

LEW WILLIAMS
SONNY BURGESS
RUTH BROWN
THE CLEFTONES
AN ALL STAR DOO WOP LEGENDS SHOW
MARTI BROM
WILDFIRE WILLIE & THE RAMBLERS
EXTRAORDINAIRES
REDONDO'S

* one last thing. this isnt just a primered car show! we welcome painted cars as long as they are traditional hot rods, customs, and classics.

*no fiberglass cars, low riders, muscle cars, tubbed cars, high tech street rods, billet alluminum, cars on "dubs",etc will be allowed inside the show area. no exceptions.

thanks
