I (Weed) have been duly elected to put on a car show for Stanton's annual Knife River Days event. It is Stantons 125th anniversary. I am planning a "KISS" type show on main drag. By KISS I mean to keep it very simple. We put one on last year with a peoples choice cash award and before the event was over I overheard a older fellow whinning about his car not being chosen, therefore there will be no awards of any kind. Just a real simple , park and peak type event. Our club , the Early Iron Rodders are gonna play host to this event. I also want to display project cars cause a lot of the folks around here have never seen a rod in the"raw" and that being my favorite type is something I think non car folks would enjoy. Something different from the usual pretty paint stuff. There is a whole day of events being planned, most of which I dont know yet, but there will be a parade in the later part of the afternoon which the cars can participate in also. There is a fifties type band with street dance planned for the evening. There is usually games throughout the day and a big beef barbeque after the parade. On top of all this frolicking festivities it also happens to be my 45th birthday, so come on out and help me celebrate. I really thought it was nice of the town to have such a big party for me...I will later be posting times as everything is still in the planning stages.
