Wow. . . pikes peak has been added to my list of places i will race before I die. I'll do pikes last cuz i'll probably die there. Apparently guard rails are for sissies. Seriously though the dude is driving with one hand into the sun on a mountain trail. I'm nearly speechless. . .

Can you just drive on this road at any time?

 yeah.........when there no racin' :D

 you pay a fee :roll:  toward the bottom of the mt. and drive up. If you don't like heights ( like me ) it's not the most FUN ride. It's narrow in spots and you have traffic going both ways. On the way back down you stop at the toll both again and they check the temp on your brakes. If there are to hot you have to weight till they cool before they let you continue down. I would think it would be closed in the winter.
