Title: For Sale: 1965 El Camino - SOLD
Post by: Eyeball on March 16, 2005 12:16 am
I have been kicking around the idea of selling my El Camino for a while but now a new project has forced my hand.

* New front end components (tie rods, drag link etc..)
*Chrome Reverse wheels. 14" in fair condition with new spider caps. The wheels rusted some this     winter but I will clean them up and they should look like they do in the pic. The front                     wheels are nicer than the rears.
*New tires.
*New Shocks
*Fresh 230ci I6, new point, plugs, wires, fuel pump etc.
*T5 5 speed overdrive tranny from S-10
*New clutch and pressure plate
*New bearings and seals in rear. It is a posi rear. (3:73 gears I think)
*The rear portion if the exhaust is new with new bellflower tips. (no mufflers)
*New windshield

I pulled the carpet out to repair a few rust spots in the floor. I put one patch in last fall an it will still need a few more spots repaired. One by the accelerator pedal and one by the rear mount for the seat.

The body is straight with some rust repair needed behind the rear wheels and behind the front wheels. The body seems solid and straight under the paint. Where the rust is there is no evidence of any filler. The bed has surface rust on the floor and the forward part of the bed. The seat needs to be reupholstered. They make interior kits for the car that are pretty reasonable. The rear window leaks in the rain and I have not removed the chrome to see what the deal is. The stainless bed rails are kinda beat from use too.

The car sits low. The springs have been cut and an alignment was done so it goes down the road nice. You will bottom out, like I said it is low.

Like I stated above the gears in the car are somewhere around the 3:73 mark but I will toss in a set of 2:73 gears I picked up. You need a different carrier to run them which I don't have, that is the only reason I have not put them in the car yet. I was planning on making a nice highway car out of it.

I am the third owner of the car and the first two were Father and then his son-in-law.

PM me for more pics of your serious. $4000.00 Possible partial trade but would like the bux to get another car on the road. I will be putting it on EBAY after VLV.
