Title: American Icon - Hot Rod (new TV show)
Post by: JakesBackyard on October 27, 2010 4:41 am
I just finished watching it DVR'd from 8pm and 8:30pm tonight. It's on again at 11 and 11:30 tonight.

HD Theater on cable if you get it.

Great stuff from the beginning. You've got to check it out. Two episodes each Tues. at 8 and 8:30 and replayed at various times again.

I watched three episodes last night  that my son-in-law had DVR. What’s not to like …………..it about HOT HODS!!!!!!!! I think some of those old guys ( yeah Jake even older than me ) have embellished and told their stories so many times they can’t separate fact from fiction.    :) I liked what Alex X said, if he didn’t know something he let you know, and not try to BS his way through it. Maybe the only thing I didn’t like is they left you with the impression the only place in the world you could find a hot rod before the second world war was Southern CA. Come on…….. there had to be some mid west and east cost boys who had made a jalopy of some sort and were racing each other down the gravel roads. Even one of the fellows being interview said as soon as the second guy in town got his model T and happened to get  next to the first guy they had a race. Sure they weren’t as well organized, not as many people and didn’t have the lake bed to run, but CA I’m sure wasn’t the only place. Oh wait a minute that show is being filmed in CA , that has to be right.

All I had to do was click on the link that you provided Jake. I remind myself of some of the idiots on the HAMB....and now I'm one.!!

Looks like 6 of them. Thanks.

The last one I saw shows the young guns ( like Troy Lad from Hollywood Hot Rods). Is this the last one?? According to my son-in-law his DVR says the rest are reruns.

I'm not sure. I've missed a couple of them. Seems to me I read on the HAMB that there were 8 of them. Search it on the HAMB - there's a thread on it there.
