Post by: eugenevik on September 21, 2010 2:47 am

Title: different problems
Post by: eugenevik on September 21, 2010 2:55 am
It was too bright and  sunny to get good pictures :x
and way too hot to be outside
cooled off on way back, my car gets a lot of engine heat inside
Title: funn not at the show??
Post by: eugenevik on September 21, 2010 3:00 am
my cousin took me to 2 shows in Branson
AND  after 30 car shows alone I FINALLY  took the wife with, search for a report???
Title: what we really did
Post by: eugenevik on September 21, 2010 3:08 am
it was hot out and some of us went and rode the train to Arkansaw

and the rest of us went to the comets show, all the hot rodders landed together and we got 1/2 price tickets
THEn  WE HEARD PAUL REVERE AND THE RAIDERS that was a kick ass show it was high energy for a showman who was 73 year young??
and the drummer from the Bill Haley and the comets was 80 and could play top notch

so we mostly all skiped the car show and stayed in air conditioning and had  a good time
Title: AWARDS????
Post by: eugenevik on September 21, 2010 3:17 am
WELL BEING WE ARE NOT WITH THE ELETE   AND WAS DRIVING THE 53 we skipped the awards cermony for the two day trip home, It was over 850 miles on the Odo for the trip there
rooms may be had for about 30$ a nite if you shop around ,
the host hotel was 50 a nite
AND FUEL is cheep  :D  premium was available all over for less than fargos pump price proabbly and I would imagine that is because Corn and ETHANOL  does not govern missouri  but that state  SHOULD BE NAMED MISSERY for the heat, I dont think I had been back there seince basic training at fort Leonard Wood  and that was no funn either!!!

Was a ford from Philladelphia and it was totally amazing  with the detail work, I should of shot the engine compartment it  had a Y block with AOD  and 3  97 carbs on a totatly pollished manifold with a fade paint job, chopped convertable top, and the convettable was home made conversion

but the heat made the brain fade, the exhaust manifolds were ground smooth, most of his work was done by friends and others for unbeliveble cheep price
i had 3 paint jobs on it untill the fades were done correctlly and it cost $3500 for the paint job
Title: Kalamazoo cars
Post by: eugenevik on September 21, 2010 3:31 am
the 53 chev had a Buick V6   in it i never got to look under the hood, it sounded real nice and was detailed nicely with a nice tuck and roll interior
the 55 chev was also from there  and that was flamed and lettered OLD  SKOOL  and thats how the build was, a very clean build

Thanks for the event coverage. Ya that convert is nice, I like the paint and (lincoln?) taillights.

Thanks Eugene. Always good coverage.  How many old car miles have you put on this year?
Title: addendum on bottom
Post by: eugenevik on September 21, 2010 6:04 am
the 53 has 16,000 sumpton now  proabbly had 11K last year
feeling guilty,    the trailer and Duramax got 15K for sure in the last year so far
I think I have discovered a secret, car shows are expensive I am down to doing the local free shows till the rest of the year??

I think he said they were packard
i was guessing Kaiser for the tailights

another thing neat was he used seat belt latches and clips to hold the lakes pipes on and they could be snaped off to remove, they were talking that they were good to use on lift off tops
I may have to try that if i can find any old belts, threw away all my parts cars that used to be hid at the farm

Looks like there was a lot of nice kustoms at that show.  I'm really diggin' that purple pickup and of course the '59 chev.
