Title: Nebraska Cars
Post by: AntiBling on July 13, 2005 2:01 am
It occured to me today I never posted the pics I took when I was in Nebraska at my parents place there in May.

These were taken in my parents pasture down there.

These are the cars visible, there are probably 20 + cars all together including the ones under the brush.

They live in Mitchell, NE.  Its about 50 miles from Cheyenne.  Its a desert area, usually not as green as in these pictures, but down there its enough to make you cry.  These car bodies were good at one time, till they were thrown down a ravine with the rest of the trash as erosion protection.  Along the river down there it is doted with model A's and tons of other cars up through the 50s and early 60s.

Next time I go down I am taking a trailer and scavenging parts from my folks pasture, and see what if any deals I can make for the cars along the river there.  The nice part about it down there, is its usually so dry the river never rises enough for the cars to be that rusty.

My neighbor and I have been threatening to go "prospecting" for our next projects and by the looks of the local supply it might be a good idea!
