Title: I rescued some parts
Post by: Briggs&Stratton on January 20, 2010 2:23 am
A friend of mine was helping a guy crush a bunch of cars yesterday so I swung out there to see if there was anything good.  I spotted a 54 Cadillac 4 door that was complete minus the steering column/box so in a 17 degree after-dark hurry we pulled the car under the yard light, flipped it on its side, fire-wrenched some bolts, pushed it back over, and cut the core support.  In a total of about 12 minutes the 331 and hydramatic were dangling from the tractor loader haha.  I took the big cadillac air cleaner off and set it down and forgot it there (big hurry) so I hope its still around.  I cut the front bumper/grille assembly off too.  Grill is bad but the dagmar part is really nice.

Also, there was a 49 plymouth on its side already so I cut the cool looking ribbed front and rear bumpers off. Very straight.  They still have the bumper guards and push bars.

The cadillac and the plymouth are now flat and on their way to becoming 47 new hondas.

I kinda feel bad for the Caddy, although I'm glad the big good stuff was retrieved from it.  Note to self:  Look for '49 plymouth bumpers.
