Well its been along time coming. I thought I would post some pics of my new car. It's a 1953 Chevy four door sedan. Plans are still in my head for this one, especially since it will be my first actual project.

I looked and looked................but I don't see any pics??? :)

Looks pretty solid.......

Way to go Blaine. Jump in and get your hands dirty.
I had a Bel Aire just like it in the mid 70's. Almost perfect back then. Took it in on a trade deal, drove it for a couple months and then sold it.
Get her running and have some fun. :)
-
Hey Blaine, I have a front clip for one of thouse. But it looks like you don't need any of that. What are your plans??
-
Well Im thinking that just getting her on the road is first! :) Plans are for a small block and automatic to motivate. I would like to do some mild custom treatments like nose, deck, and shave. Probably add some more teeth to the grille. Tom if the grille off your clip is good I may be interested.

another pic

Looks like a good solid car, 53-54's have always been some of the best looking cars in my opinion.
I have a '53 that the grill, the only thing good on it is the teeth if you need some.
-
AntiBling I just might need those teeth. I've been looking around alot at pics of custom 53s, and I really like the look of em with added grille teeth.
-
Blaine, welcome to the 53 Club, I have a 53 Buisness coupe thats in the project list. If you end up with any extra teeth let me know.
-
Cool! Now all you have to do is rent a spot at Driven and get some tools!
-
I don't know how I missed this, but congrats Blaine! Where'd you find it? There are a few of them up at my uncles. I'll have to watch to see what happens to them now.
-
Congrats LOTD! Keeping with a straight 6? Excited to see this car progress!
-
Hey thanks Sixinarow!! Nope the six is coming out, the 235 in it currently has a rod laying out the pan. Im all about hwy speed and driveability with this one, so a small block is going in.
-
Nice Blainey! Tons of stuff you can do with those 53's! Pic up on the site in a minute!
-
Thanx CJ!
-
So....I'm hoping to have the car home in a few weeks. Thought I would post a pic of a Barris car that is sort of serving as an inspiration. Looking forward to seeing/meeting some of you at the Pinstriper49 Chop!

I like it, any luck finding a donor car yet?

A couple of possibilities are out there, just waiting to see how things play out in the work field.

'58 chevy headlights are a must in this car's future. I can help you with that!

Ok you had a good weekend to get the car. lets see some pics.
-
I like the look of that 54! And didn't go this weekend....
-
i think that grille can be arranged as well. Its convex as opposed to concave however. bulges out at ya.
-
I do not care for the grille
