Picked up some little pages yesterday from an antique store, and came across Bill Ohnstad's deuce coupe in an August 1958 issue of Rod Builder & Customizer. Sorry if the scan is crappy:
-
Well thats pretty cool.
-
8) Neat. Especially for 1958 and out of ND.
I've heard the Ohnstad name before, but don't know anything about the car. Any one want to fill us in on the whole story and what ever happened to the car?
-
Thanks for posting that. The scan worked. I wonder too what happened to the car.
-
I did some searching and was finding the last name in West Fargo quite a bit, just not with the first and last name together.
-
Any relation to Jim Ohnstad from OK Tire?
-
Which OK Tire is he at? Maybe I will stop by with the article after work.
-
He is the owner of OK Tire. Hes usually at the Main ave store.
If this car ever did get the Olds motor, I wonder if its the same 32 that Roger Weise bought in the '80s with the Olds. The kid wanted to keep the motor and that motor is the one in the orange Model A running 6-97s up in Grand Forks. I don't know what happened to the Weise's coupe.
Lots of 'ifs', but would be cool to see the historys full circle.

the only tidbit I can add to the story is that he told me that 371 originally came out of a late 50s big GM plow truck
-
roger bought his in thief river falls if i remember right, and the body was green
-
Could anyone run this article or link to him and see? I too want to see this come full circle!
