Title: Vintage Winter PIC
Post by: JakesBackyard on January 31, 2009 3:01 am
With the snow we've had this winter, I thought you might get a kick out of this old pic.

The year is 1941...my Mom & Dad's old Ford on a country road south of Crary, ND.

I can bet at some point someone said "Floor it!"...it's amazing the kind of crap those old cars made it through...and people wonder why they used to be so tall...

Reminds me of March 1966!!  Tom will remember that one.  Starting to get a little nervous around here remembering '96-97.

Tom....you could just carve out some snow and have another storage shed.

My experience (and memory) is that if you were deep into cars, you probably weren't into that other "stuff".

That's true Jake.........we would meet young ladies and some would ask are you a car guy or.........?? ( whatever they were calling a stoned out MF at that time.)

and I do remember `66!! Stuck on the farm for 3 days with your brothers and sisters, even though there was a blizzard you still went out and did chores.

I think they called em "loads or loadies", I was just a pup in the 60's but thats what burners were called when I was younger. By the way Tom ,I noticed you got another birthday coming up and its the day after Valentines Day. I never noticed that before. I suppose we gotta start calling you Tommy Valentine, sounds sorta gangsta doesnt it.....gotta go now

my dad was telling me about the snow in '66. He had a gold anniversary 62 impala SS at the time, and he had to go outside with a broom handle to find the roof of his car!
