Howdy from Duluth, MN. Been a racer (dragsters and sprint cars) since the early 60's. Finally, at age 67, I have my first hot rod....a '26 Ford RPU. I've been admiring the Suedes' cars on the H.A.M.B. for several years and I'll be looking in on this forum from time to time....probably daily. :)

Welcome to the board and thanks for checking out our site. Looks like you got a great car.
-
Welcome aboard.....I really like your car. Do you ever go to the North Shore Rod Run up there. It has been quite a while since I have been there but it was great time......

Thanks, Eyeball....I kinda like it too. :)
Lots of little things to be changed or adjusted but I like to think I know how.
The host motel for the North Shore Run is just down the street from me so I've seen the gathering many times....even attended their picnic, etc. I have a lot of friends in the Vintage Times club.

What quick change is under it and what box is used for the steering? Oh and you may as well tell me what engine and tranny are in it too. :)

Funny story. When I bought the thing I was skeptical about the Q.C. They tend to be noisy and clunky. When I got to Rapid City I was pleased to discover that it was a "faux" Frankland item. It's just a '46 Ford rear with that center section. The steering appears to be a typical Mustang "tuck under" arrangement. The whole steering system is tight and, aside from the 3 degrees of caster, it steers quite well. I'll raise the caster to 7 degrees and that should eliminate the slight amount of wander I'm feeling now.
The engine is a GM Iron Duke with an Offy intake and a Holley 350 cfm carb. I spent quite some time going over the entire fuel delivery system from tank to cylinder head including a carb rebuild. Lots of minor problems found but it runs sweet now. There's a 350 Turbo trans behind the Duke but I'll probably replace it with a 77mm 5-speed eventually. I like shifting. :)

Thanks to "y'all" for the kind words. As I said earlier, I joined this forum because I like what I've seen of the Suedes members' cars who post over at the H.A.M.B. I hope I fit in here.

From one Mod owner to another, welcome. I spent some time talking to the owner and looking at your new ride when it was at the Counts Car Show in Rapid. Must have been about two years ago. It's a well built car from what I remember.

If you are "Tom H" on the H.A.M.B. with the orange modified, I've been lusting after your car since I first saw it. In fact, I use it as my wallpaper. :)
Yes.....it's a very nicely built car. Once I get the minor adjustments taken care of (U-joint/driveline angles, instrumentation, taillights, caster, etc.) I'll be driving the hell out of it ! :D
Is this yours ?

Welcome to the board. Ive come across your mod on the HAMB before. I have always wanted one but I think I might be too tall for one.

Yes that's mine. Wow, use as your wallpaper, I'm  .
