Title: 52 ford motor swap
Post by: Briggs&Stratton on June 07, 2008 4:32 am
Hey, im working on this 52 victoria and I decided to cop out and put a 302 in it cause I happened to have one in a granada I bought a few years ago for a derb car.  I pulled the motor and c4 out about a week ago.

Anyone know how to go about doing this?  My 302 has a front sump oil pan and im guessing I need a rear one.  And I will need a different radiator.

I know wowcars has a 54 ranch wagon so hopefully he can shed some light :) 8)

if i remember right it would be a early small bronco or econoline pan and you can get a new 60's mustang rad on the ebay for a round 120

The suspension and steering were changed on the 54's because they came with the "new" overhead Y block.  I have never done this, but I know you have to do a little work on the steering linkage to make a newer eng. work in the 52-53s. I'm not sure the rear sump will solve all the work necessary.

I'm sure there's some info out there somewhere.

Do a HAMB search for it. Been done MANY times and fairly well documented. Lots of guys have given me tips on it. Check it out.
