Title: tire truing
Post by: overspray on February 25, 2008 7:02 pm
I remember one of these in a tire shop when I was a kid.

I think there should be some of these, maybe in the "iron curtin country" of south, North Dakota, tucked away in an old garage or tire store.

I can't believe "Wheel Whore" doesn't have one!!

Come on Todd,  hardly anybody uses these any more.  I'll bet there's lots of these tucked away in old garages and tire shops.  I used to find $1000 paint shakers for under a hundred bux by checking old lumber yards and hardware stores.  They would get a new modern paint shaker and toss the old one in the back room or warehouse.  I posted these because they have pictures.  I'll bet most of us on here wouldn't know what they look like.

Hunting one down would be a good club project for the for the "Swedes" or the "Iron Curtain Cruisers".

They even work on radials.  They will drastically improve the ride of most cars with bias ply tires.

A few years ago I was taking to the owner of OK tire and he said they still had their machine but it was in a storage trailer parked in the back lot.

Could you also use that to cut your wide whites?

I've never seen one around down here. I'm with Serious, I could use one too. Got a couple of sets that need rounding. Guess it's time to search the barns again now that I know what they look like.
