I was wondering if anyone was up for a garage tour some saturday or sunday. I was thinking if you have a project going we could set up a time to go to each spot for about an hour. I have a co worker that is going to be building a roadster and this would be a good way to let him look at some other cars in our area and see how things are being done.
I was thinking late maybe early november for the fair weather garages.
Thoughts?

sure
-
can anybody take a look? i dont have anything to show myself, just a partially taken apart 51 in an apartment garage. it could be a beer stop if needed?
-
I cordially invite anyone who wants to come over to the johnson/davis garage over to check stuff out. RacerJ just got a subframe tonight.
-
subframe?................you going to street rod your A now?
-
at least it not mii ;)
i'm in if its not my sat to work and if i can find a sitter
-
It's for his roadster on the passenger side.
-
He means Sub Rails, not Sub frame... Id be up for a shop tour... im a little out of the way, but if i dont work, id attend.
-
Jake graciously gave me the subrails. His model A frame "jig" is sweet for working on a body. Ya, I'm game for a tour, then again I was game for the pileup too. . . . :drunken:
-
Keep us posted. I'd sure enjoy tagging along.
-
I'm in.

Which weekend works out best???
-
I am not finding a good weekend to do this, November is a busy month especially when I work every other weekend. I will see how this unfolds in the next week.
This will be pretty informal and just a small group of guys coming around.
send me a pm if you are interested in being a "Stop"
-
any word yet?
-
Sounds like it will not work out.
-
you mean we're painting our shop up for nothing?
-
It will make you feel better.......
-

Hey the Toppers are always looking for shop during the car show, and the car club out of Lisbon has shop tours in Feb and March and some times ends up in Fargo.........so maybe not for nothing. ( some how I think your shitting me about the painting.  )

Nope, I seen the paint.

It's Christopher Lowell Blue. really shines up the place and makes it more home-like, that's for sure!
-
Yeah, this month is too busy to get anything lined up. and the next few are too cold for the fair weather garages.

I think PPG blue is precisely he color. For all you non norweigians that don't live in Norweigian Mafialand, Christopher lowell is our reference for something being really gay, so I don't think the paint color counts. WHat DOES count as C.L. would be the following that happened to me today:
"Hey look Joel, I got my carburetor finally in the mail from Ebay"
"Sweet," says Joel
(Pete opens the box) "Son of a bitch, I got a krylon rebuild! Thats gayer than AIDS."
"Christopher Lowell gay?" says Joel
"definately," says pete. And then Pete rambles on about the shitty luck on ebay with carburetors he's had and Joel mumbles something about the Hot Rod gods being mad at Pete, etc, etc, etc, but at least our stairway is painted for the shop tour we aren't having. I can mount my krylon gay, i mean gray carburetor on the wall now too.

31 rodder--it's to bad you had to work that nite or you could have enjoyed some of the free beer!
-
I was a little slow on the draw, I was napping, got a phone call, drove to the shop, everybody had left 60 seconds before I got there!
I still enjoyed the free HAMMS after y'all left.
Oh, wait, I bought it.
But I did manage to rig up a cardboard windshield while I was consuming. Pinstriper has pics. That is the cleanest the shop has been in awhile and its not done being painted yet!! Maybe by the toppers show.
