To find a pickup open banjo is not going to be easy. For my Modified I got open conversion from Hot Rod Works.

What years were they from and what gear ratios did they have in say, an F1?  I know of a '49 F1 rearend, but will the ratio be way off?

I have a 48 and a 50 f1 and neither of them have a banjo. I think it is only in the early ones.

I'm not sure of the years. They would have been 1/2 tons. Been told 3 speed trans only. If your lucky they will be 3.78... most were 4.11 or deeper. Now if your going to run an overdrive trans, deep gears is what you want.

The one I have is 3.78 and was out of the donor  truck. ( It was laying under a van with part of it sticking out when I spotted it. )The junk yard I got from had no info on it. Got it home and took it apart, it's rusted up. I think it can be saved.

Yes in cars, but from what I have been able to find out not in open drive pick-up. And the gear sets will not inter change. The pinon on the pick-up has the yoke for the u-joint and you can't put it on the car pinion.

If I remember right I have a 3:54 rear end.

Hopefully I'll find one by early sept. ... i'll be setting up my frame for my A coupe by then, and I'll need a rearend...I suppose I can use pete's parts rearend that is a closed driveshaft just to get the setup right until i find one. I'll be using an A rear spring and hopefully I'll make a pair of radius rods. '37 I-beam front susp. too.

my open drive has 4:11 but I can't get the pinion yoke off to replace the pinion seal nor find a new pinion seal so if anybody knows where to get a pinion seal for an open drive let me know please.
