New from HRCC (because we were sick of having to make one every time too), Banjo Torque Arm Kit. Everything you need including fasteners. Can be provided two ways:
Option 1: unwelded kit, you assemble yourself. $165.00 + S&H
Option 2: We provide the Banjo Bracket and the frame bracket, you take a measurement and email it to us, we weld up the torque arm and send it to you ready to install. $195.00 + S&H

We came up with this because the banjo was never designed for the trailing arms to take the torque (rotational forces) of the axle housing. Just as a locator. That's why the original had a "Torque Tube." :D

You guys are so loving; I'm speechless. The "a little different" comment is a compliment, thank you.
I just want to see if a banjo can hold up cuz they look so damn cool. So, has anyone actually seen a banjo break with a 394, or is all this just heresay? Which part breaks the most; the axles? Didn't that slingshot dragster at Toppers have a friggin' hemi in it? What rearend did the driver set his nuts on top of? Yes, a 1940 BANJO!!! Some of the old guys I talk to say they're tough, so we'll see.
And I'm not saying it'll work either, I'm HOPING it works The automatic trans won't spike load the rearend like a manual would, and I'm hoping the 20 year old 4" wide bias plys will slip most of the time instead of breaking stuff. You'll all get front row seats at the old banjo's abilities. And if it breaks on the roadside, you might even get to help me fix it if you're really lucky. I have spare axles! :wink:

I would guess it would be the axle but most of the time if they do break it is is cuz the hub is not seated on the axle.

yea, they spin the axle in the hub... id invest is some brass shim material and shim them to the axle... i think Hot ROd Works sells it. TOm was telling me about it.
