accordoing to my ol ford Street Rod book it looks as though the diameter is the same but the length and location of the lock bolt vary;Goes on to say"When buying a king pin set, get the set for the spindle you are using. If the lock bolt  slot does not line up with the axle you have selected, grind a new slot on the opposite side of the king pin. Lock pins are intended to be inserted from the front side of the axle." Also it says 37-41 king pins have a flat top, 5.1/2 inches long and have the lock bolt slot 2 .1/2 inches from the top. 42-48 pins are six inches long, with the lock bolt slot 2 3/4 inches from the top.
