Title: stuck brake drums.
Post by: 31Rodder on September 07, 2006 2:55 am
I need to remove brake drums from a 9 inch ford.  I broke the outer lip on the one side and would like to salvage the other if possible without breaking it.

So what have you done to loosen these up.  I am guessing the pad is stuck to the drum.  the adjuster are rusted and can not be turned.

I shot a bunch of hydrotex (lubricant) in the adjuster holes,  Do I just wait?

Or give me some options.

They were stuck? we pulled that car to the shop to cut the rear end out.. and ithad wheels on it..      Hmmm

Heat em up..   i had to do that to the rear in my edsel..  its the axle flange thats probably stuck, not the brakes.  the hole ih the drum, wheere the axle fits thru...  I heated and Gibbs'd mine for a full day before it finally came on my Edsel.

Cut the little pins out from the back that will give you some play.
