Yes, it's going to be pretty wild.  One of the Auto Tech instructors is putting it together.  Stuff like that keeps the students interest.

Small block hooked up to the original hydro.  They had it fired up on Tues., but it's apart again now as they have to reverse the flow on the hydro so it goes the right direction.

When done it will be all pretty stock looking.

Radiator mounted underneath the hydro/footrest area with an electric fan blowing downward. Just some outward pointing dumps out the headers.

Probably be a good idea....and some training wheels off the sides.  I'm sure the test drives will be a sight to see.  When it happens I'll see if I can get it on tape and post it.

Here's the SBC powered JD lawn tractor on film.  They wanted it to be a little promotional.  The JD is covered about half way through and shown in action towards the end.

Yes, they used the original hydro, but because of the opposite rotation of the engine compared to the original, they had to reverse the flow of the hydro.

Top end is only about 12-15mph because the hydro will only pump so much....but lots of power!

It still gets a little hot because of a very small radiator under the trans, but I'm sure Dennis will figure something out. He's a genius.

John Simonson has the Stude back in his possesion. They tore down that little bldg. it was in for the remodel of Bute gym into the Health Center a few years ago. The car then sat in a storage bldg. and started to get vandalized and missing some stuff. So he took it back. Not sure where it is. The whole thing was a shame.

Oh well, enjoy the vid.

I was wondering what happened to that. Incredible piece of history right in our back yard. I loved walking by that thing every day.
