I couldn't use stock Model A radiator support rods as they were too short.  I looked at Speedway and saw they carried radiator support rods in stainless for around 25 bucks plus another 13 for shipping so I decided to make a pair.  I went to Mac's and saw the 5/16 round sticks were around 4 bucks for a 3 foot stick. Nearby I saw the fence posts 5/16 nearly 4 feet long so, I picked up 2 fence posts for a buck and a half each and a few nuts bolts and washers everything was less that 4 dollars.  It was pretty simple just made a point on the ends of the bolts and the end of the fence post and welded them together.  measured for length.  I then cut the 4 1/2 inch bolt in half to use for the threaded ends, ground to a point on each end same on the raw fence post end and welded up.  saved myself 34 bucks. plus it got me back out in the shop again.
