so like a aaron said i channeled my mod like a dumbass. and now i'm trying to frind room for the trivial stuff you know pedals and steering box. my though today is could i mount my mopar box to the fire wall directly. stiffing it up like i would an anson style pedal sandwiching a 1/4" plate in between the box and the wall with some of the box either going thru the wall or in to a blister. or maybe steping it back but still mounting it to the wall?

No,  there is too much flex.  I have seen some threads on the hamb where they make a skeletal structure mounting the box  to that and that structure is welded into the frame or bolted to the frame.  I think there would be alot of issues mounting to the firewall.

yeah i've been looking at the same pics and threads.  right now i'm thinking frame mount any body have an extra f1 or the line box?

Why not just mount the box on the frame rail and scrap the cowl steering?

SKO, dont limit yourself to a F1 or F100. I have a box off a F6 two ton truck on my T and am very happy with it. The pitman arm is longer though, but that ended up being a good thing as I had to heat it and bend it to clear the split bones. Also, the triangular mount was not clocked correctly to fit inside my frame, but after seeing that Tardel usually welds boxes together for Av8,s, I figured I'd reclock the tiangle on my box by cutting it and adding the cut-off pieces back to make a triangle again. It worked very good and I couldnt believe how good this metal welds with a wirefeed. I ground every thing to a point and tacked and slowly started running beads. The truck boxes are usually next to free and I've found lots of dead trucks but very few pickups...

I would build a structure under the dash and tie it all in to the subrails and bolt it down to the frame.  you have been wanting to do the cowl steering and it can be done.  plus that polished aluminum box would have a cool factor hanging under there.

my feet dont have room for any structre.  and i also have that ford box and cant seem to find bearing cages for it

my gas pedal in my coupe is very close to the tunnel, which is what you have to contend with.  i still think you can mount it with a 1x1 square tubing structure.

What you are up against right now was by far the most frustrating part of my T build. There is absolutely no room for anything. The one good thing you have going is not needing a clutch pedal too. You'll figure it out....

the non mopar box is 67 ford f100 2wd and the one in the pic is mopar and i dont know what its outa.
