Wanted / Pedal Car @ Roadster Swap
« on: December 05, 2013 9:54 PM »
Hey! Am looking for info of the Suede who had the 3 wheeled pedal car at the Roadster Swap in October. Was in a hurry and didn't stop to talk to anyone about it. It was setting next to Aaron R.'s space. Is it still for sale?

General Discussion / JCCC Buffalo Rally
« on: June 30, 2011 3:17 AM »
Hey, does anyone know anything about the Buffalo Rally in Jamestown next weekend? I see it is a pick event. Where is it gonna be located, what time does it start, what's going on, anyone going? Was thinking on going since it isn't that far from us. Can't find any info except on the NDSRA site, but just the date. Any info would be appreciated.

General Discussion / '54 Chevy Parts Source
« on: August 17, 2010 6:12 PM »
Anybody know of any places carrying replacement parts for '53-'54 Chevy cars.  Mostly need patch panels and rockers, glass, bumper and grill pieces. Did a search but only came up with one company and they didnt carry much of anything for '53-'54.

General Discussion / Pontiac Wheels
« on: July 08, 2010 4:52 PM »
Does anyone know if Pontiac made a 16" wheel in the late 40's - early 50's?  If so what was the bolt pattern?  I like the looks of the '50-'52 Pontiac hubcaps but have only seen them in the 15" size and have 16" wheels on my shoebox.  I was gonna try to make a 15" hubcap fit on a 16" Ford wheel by securing it to the center nubs but am afraid it might look funny.  Anyone else ever try this?

Project Reports / Another Shoebox
« on: September 30, 2009 6:20 PM »
Well, hope nobody objects to me putting my project on here. It's nothing special. Just an everyday '50 2 dr. sedan we drug home last year. Has the typical rust in the floors, rockers and fenders. Bought all the patch panels from Mac's and have a couple running Flatheads but wanted to go a different route with the motor/trans. Ended up buying a 292 Y-block from Overspray. I'm leaning towards a AOD trans but not sure yet. I know many argue the fact that air bags aren't traditional but I wanted the car to have the lower stance when parked but still be able to drive it long distances and be comfortable so we put air bags on all 4 corners along with disc brakes front and rear. We found a 9" rear out of a '57 station wagon. Fit perfect! Stock 16" steel wheels with WWW were next. We finished up the suspension last weekend with just final welding to do. Next on the list is getting the trunk put back in and working on the rusted body panels and floors. Future plans include a 5" chop, frenched headlights and taillights (maybe '54 Merc, not sure), louvred hood, shaved handles and trim (might use'53 Buick side trim) and '56 Dodge front and rear bumpers. Like I said, nothing fancy since it's all been done before but we are pretty excited about it since it is our first custom. Pics aren't real good to start since the body is already on the routissery but you get the idea:

For Sale / 1936 Cevrolet Truck
« on: September 29, 2009 10:18 PM »
This is a friends of a friend's truck. 1936 Chevy 1 ton. Straight 6, runs really good. Been in storage for the past 6 1/2 years. Very straight and mechanically sound. Looks to be in very good condition. I didn't see any rust. Interior is in good shape. Looks to have a reupholstered seat. I looked at it really quick but am going back to take a closer look and find out more info. Owner lives in Georgia but truck is located in Ashley, ND. I can get his email or phone # if interested. I'm waiting for a asking price from him. I'll post more when I have it. Any questions PM me and I'll relay them to the owner. He did tell me he really needs to sell this, I think he recently lost his job so if someone can help him out....  Thanks for the interest and please pass this on if you would be so kind.  Josh

General Discussion / Soda/Sand Blasting
« on: June 25, 2009 6:13 PM »
Am looking at having my '50 and '51 bead blasted. Noticed that there are two outfits in Mandan (closest for me to take to) that do glass blasting which I am told will remove all paint/rust without warpage.  I contacted the one place and they quoted me $700-$1200 per car. Has anyone had work done by anyone in the area and if so where at and what was your opinion of the work done? My other option is to go the "blue tarp" route and build a makeshift blasting enclosure and do it myself. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks!

General Discussion / Who's going to Bonneville?
« on: June 09, 2009 4:21 PM »
Been throwing it around.....again! Just wondering who is all going from around here.  Tom, I think you're going. Right?  Heard a few other on here talking about it.  I checked on rooms and there still seem to be a "few" left.  Most seem to be scarfed up already.  Thought about camping at the bend but don't own a camper and tenting for a week doesn't sound all that great.  Just so I have the dates correct.  They are Aug. 17-21.  If this isn't correct let me know. Thanks in advance.

General Discussion / Insurance
« on: April 02, 2009 9:03 PM »
Long story short.  Have all my insurance (home, life, health, everyday cars) through one place.  Have had my '30 Model A also insured through the same place for past 3 years. Went to put insurance on my wife's '33 coupe and they dropped it plus my Model A because they were "Modified". Claimed they didn't catch it the first time around. Whatever! My question is has anyone else had a problem with this and if so where are you getting your custom, classic, hot rod, whatever, insurance from?  I think it is time to call that little green lizard I see on the TV all the time. Thanks!

General Discussion / GR8 Autobody in Bismarck
« on: November 24, 2008 3:19 PM »
Anyone know anything about this place? Drove by it the other day and noticed a lot of '40's & '50's cars setting in the fence. He had a couple of '54 Buicks with good side trim I've been looking for. Place was closed so I didn't know if the stuff was for sale. Anybody know anything?

Wanted / I need a wheel
« on: November 19, 2008 9:50 PM »
Looking for a Ford 16" x 4 1/2" with 5 on 4 1/2" bolt circle.  Has to have the three dimples on it for a 10 1/8" hub cap.  Only need one!  PM me if you have one and price.  Pics of yours would be great. Must be straight with no pitting. I'm not sure of the year/years made. After '48 I think.  Here's what it looks like.  Thanks in advance.

General Discussion / Bonneville?
« on: August 25, 2008 5:54 PM »
Was wondering if there are dates set already for 2009?  We planned on going this year but couldn't because of work (and $$$).  But next year we are going for sure unless I die or something more serious.  Anyway just wanted to start to make plans ahead of time.  Oh yeah, where are the pics?  We need pictures!! We wanna see pictures, NOW!!!  Later, Flatheaded

« on: June 24, 2008 10:54 PM »
I know nothing about these but was hoping someone could give me a little info. Was wondering if Cadillac made a Sombraro style hubcap in a 16" size and if so what years were they produced. Thanks in advance!

Wanted / Wheel adapters needed
« on: May 07, 2008 3:13 PM »
Hey!  Am in need of a set of wheel adapters to go from 5 on 5.000" (axle) to 5 on 4.750" (wheel). Prefer the older type (about 1.000" thick) versus the billet type. The billet type seem to always be too thick. What ya got? PM with prices and pics if you have 'em.  Thanks in advance, Flatheaded
