The Hot Rod Hillclimb is scheduled for September 14th, 2014.  Last year it was a lot of fun, and this year it will be much bigger and more fun.  I'm planning on being there Friday; there have been rumblings of running bangers Friday and vintage Pre-'55 V8's Saturday.  There are more than 200 entrants registered this year compared to 50 last year.  There is a good possibility that this will be the last year of the Hillclimb, as the event has pretty much already outgrown the small town that it's held in.  For more information, check out the Hillclimb facebook page.

Here it is!  I got down to Bill Bergeron's place thursday around noon- taped it up that afternoon and fixed a couple dents, then got to work yesterday cutting and re-welding the roof.  I should have the roof back together by the end of the day today.  Tomorrow I'll tackle the doors and it sounds like I'll be back to lead the roof and work on fenders...
 
I found a Bomber seat at Bill's and he traded it to me for the front roof section I brought him- as well as a Dixco 8,000 RPM tach, and some other goodies... More on that later.

Well, here it is guys... a 1933 1934 Ford pickup cab and 1932 33 34 Ford box.  The cab has been sandblasted and then sanded with 80g. It's got a few dings... and needs a few small patch panels... but it's nothing short of a great start if you're looking to build that trophy-winning street rod! 


Everything you see here is included plus many more odds and ends included such as outside door handles, window regulators, rear window garnish molding, floor board section, door top pieces, one door inspection cover, hinges, one door latch and door latch mechanism and a few other odds and ends. Dashboard includes Speedometer without glass but otherwise complete.


The box looks like it just came out of the woods.  A little rough around the edges, but overall relatively straight and not too rusty. Too nice for the wife's flowerbed   but probably not nice enough for the "Gold Chainer" down the street.   It'll need some work, but to the moderately skilled metalman the work needed is elementary.


Doors are nice but not perfect- work needed in the hinge area on both doors, but one is a little worse.  Lower door skins will also be needed as usually found on almost 80 year old doors.

Vince Truax of Truax auto sales in Deer Creek, MN recently acquired this T coupe and heard from some of the locals in Fergus that I could chop it.  He wasn't sure how much of a haircut he wanted, but I suggested 7 or 8 inches.  We went 7", with 5" taken out of the back window and an inch taken from above and below the window.  I just started today, and I'll be finishing it early next week.  Enjoy!

I stopped by the Hot Rod Shop of Fargo today to see what was in the works and Cody (projectcar) gave me a flyer for West Fargo's cruise night.  I can't make it tomorrow, (Thursday the 15th from 5-9) but I hope to be able to make it next month.  Just what the FM area needs- another reason to get out and cruise! Is anyone else going?

Where's the best place to send stuff to get chromed around here?  Sko says LordoftheDance knows a guy... What's the dig?
