I've been hard at the body lately.  Haven't taken any pics though. Should be pretty much welded (instead of riveted) back together this weekend.

What do you think? Slanted pillars.

Been on here a lot lately....mandatory light duty for a while.....lots of surfing, reading car magazines.....and looking at the "A".  Can't do any physical work.

Anyway....I was looking at Clark's sport coupe build on the HAMB.  I had always planned on slanting the rear roof edge forward as I don't like the original straight up look they had.  Once you slant the roof the rear door edge looks out of place being straight up.  So a little photo taking and some old fashioned genuine cutting and pasting and drawing and I think I got it.  Slant just the rear pillar of the door as I want to keep the visor. I think a visor always makes an "A". The little strip around the edges will be a chrome moulding.

Any way.....What do you think?

I like the unchopped body with both "a" and "c" pillars slanted. You can pull it off! did you ever end up getting everything else welded instead of riveted? Pics!?!
The problem with having an artistic eye is that you always end up making more work for yourself. -Cleatus on the HAMB

I too like the look of the visor on A's.
But when I look at the drawing of the door with the door slanted forward, it just doesn't look right to me, maybe its just the different shades on the drawing.

Thanks for the help Ryan. I was afraid it would look odd if the front post was slanted with the visor, but it looks good.

That is an actual pic of the car. Like I said - I did some old fashioned cutting and pasting and drawing and then scanned it.

I think it's because of the pic just showing the body, but it is chopped 2.5 inches.  I did my sedan and the RPU 4" and they looked good, but with the visors it gets old bending over to see the traffic lights and stuff.

Most of the welding is done. When I get back to it, the roof will be next. I'm actually going to steel it all in and then cover it with conv. top pinpoint white vinyl. But now I'll probably slant the pillars next.

Here's the pic I started with, which is how it is sitting right now.

Thanks for the help guys.

I'm back on the "A". Redid the firewall, built the seat and riser, and made the '40 dash fit. Lot's of mock up right now...either that or build a wooden car....lol.
