1958 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88: 371 4bbl-automatic with power steering, motor has been cleaned, painted, bearings checked, oil pump rebuilt, frost plugs replaced, new timing chain set, new gaskets and seals. Does not smoke or use oil. Automatic works great, new transmission cooler and lines, new aluminum radiator. Upgraded power disc brakes, with new Ansen wheels and tires. I have installed new floor pans and carpet. The door panels, headliner, kick panels and seats show age but no rips or tears and are complete. Need some minor work in trunk and a few holes in the inner rocker not visable from outside, but outer rocker and quarters fenders are in great shape. Frame is solid these were perimeter with x frames. Car was originally white and had a respray many years ago that is coming off. Has a cool patina... car runs and drive nice great highway cruiser!!! $11,000

Project Reports / Lucky's '29
« on: March 01, 2013 4:16 AM »
So some of you know that this fall I picked up a '29 roadster project it is an original cowl and all new sheet metal from there back.  The plan is to put it on a '32 frame powered by latham supercharged 283 chevy with a pair of Fenton Black Widow exhaust manifolds.  Here are some pics from when I picked it up and some mockup pics.  I am not going with the grill in the mockup I have a '32 shell I will be using.

For Sale / 1958 Oldsmobile Dynamic 2 dr Sedan for sale
« on: September 19, 2012 8:03 PM »
Location: Maplewood MN   Price: $7000-$9000
I have a nice '58 Olds 2 door sedan that has disc brakes upgrade, new radiator, and was on the road last year. I took the motor (371) out to replace a bad frost plug and re-gasket, it did not smoke or use oil. I am just finishing up putting new floors in, the rest of the body is very nice. I also have new side glass to put in, and all interior parts. I am willing to sell this either as a roller (floors will be done), or with the engine and transmission. Here is the pricing breakdown.
$7,000 roller
$8,000 with engine and automatic transmission
$9,000 with engine, 4 spd transmission, trans adapter for 4spd, and Offy 3 deuce intake.
More pics to follow.

So I have always liked this creation by Clark Bates.  I think the car has tons of great design cues and I have a RPU project that I have stolen many of the ideas from this truck.  I have talked to Clark about it and there is a guy on the HAMB that knows the guy that bought it from Clark.  The car is pretty much unchanged with a few improvements to the interior and some wiring.  I think the car is somewhat iconic of the neo-traditional era but am not sure it is actually famous in most circles partly because it was an east coast car and not west coast.  So anyway I have not talked to the current owner but talked to the guy that knows him on the HAMB and he gave me a price he thought he might let it go for.  Any guesses on what he shot me as a ball park.? Attached is the car in question...

So, here is a pic as it was when I got it.  The truck was rougher than the pictures but had decent floors and a good running 235.  So far I have:

-Put 4 in drop mono leafs up front with some caster shims.
-Cleaned and painted the gas tank
-New brakes, dual master, lines.
-Took out the regular 3 speed and put in a Ford 3spd overdrive transmission (had a rebuilt one)
-Added a 2GC Rochester (double the barrels double the fun)
-Alan Grove 6 cylinder alternator and compressor mounts
-New radiator, condenser and evaporator mounted hope to have hose made soon and will have a literally cool ride.  Not traditional but it will get driven a lot to swap meets and parts runs and my ass is delicate so I need these kind of perks.
-I have 15" artillery's at the powdercoater and will be running 1940 Chevy caps and beauty rings with some older white wall bias plys.

What I need to do yet:
-2" drop shackles for the rear.
-Got an old 50's aftermarket rear exhaust manifold, so I need to cut and cap the original and get my dual exhaust run.
-Natalie is covering some '68 T-bird seats (look kind of like early 60's GM buckets)

Hope to get some epoxy primer and base on it as I am not a flat black kind of guy but that will be later this summer...maybe for Watertown.

Some random pics for you will be adding more soon!

Newbie Intros / Hey I made it on here...again
« on: July 12, 2012 8:42 PM »
Hey all,

I was registered at one point but mainly lurked but plan to be a bit more active.  :)  I suck at online intros and the fact that I know a lot of you in "real life" it seems really odd.  I don't come from a car family but I married into one  ;)  We have more cars than we have time or money and they are all in various stages of decay. construction or reconstruction.

We have my wife's '36 Ford 5 window tail dragger.  A '56 Ford ragtop that was a friend of my wife's family.  She rode around in it when she was 8 years old and so it is like a part of the family.  We also have a '58 Olds 2 dr sedan, I am working on getting floors in hope to have it back together next year sometime.  Our most recent acquisition is a '56 Chevy Panel that I just put a 3spd OD and am trying to make it look right.  Been doing some shake down runs with it so I hope to be camping in the back at the Run 81.  Lastly I have 2 roadster project a 1930 RPU that my wife bought me when we were dating.  It was started never saw the road and needs to be reworked.  The last is a 1927 Model T with a 1929 A backhalf graphed to it.  The car is an old hot rod and was a cover car in Jan 1959 RODBUILDER & CUSTOMIZER.  It also was at the 1958 Oakland Roadster show.  I bought the car without the history known and with the help of many folks have gotten a lot more information.  I want to redo the car back with as many authentic details as I can and also drive it.  Attached in the car as it appeared on the cover in 1959.
