Mallory Cap and Rotor for Olds Rocket
« on: March 13, 2009 8:47 PM »
I've looked for hours online for a cap and rotor for my Mallory Dual Point Distrubutor. NOS ones don't show up very often. So, I sat at NAPA and looked at the Echlin picture book for a half-hour. They actually list the cap and rotor as for the Mallory ZC and _C distributors. Neat. So, without further adeu:

Echlin

Cap: MA5

Rotor: MA7

Enjoy.

I thought if your distributor cap was in more than 1 piece it was broken, now you're telling me it's cool?  Are bullet holes in again?

the top piece is where the wires go in and they go into a rubber gasket.  when the top piece is applied to the bottom piece and screwed together it makes a tight seal holding thewires in place and keeps water out.

You're right, the one piece is lame...especially on a hoodless car.

Thank you for the info Todd.
