VLV 8

Just saw this up on the VLV page...looks like they're planning on filling the parking lot.  Wouldn't doubt it, it was pretty close last year...

UPDATE: 01/21/2005

Hello Everyone. Here is a quick update.

There are only 2 months until VLV. Many people are calling and emailing me asking about registration. There is no registration. Simply show up with your pre-'63 nostalgic rod or traditional kustom and park. Parking is done on a first come first served basis. There is no sideways parking or reserving spaces for other people. We are limited on space and plan on filling up the entire parking lot. Any other questions, feel free to email me at shifters@webtv.net.

Thanks,
Axle

I lurk on there once in a while, and that's about all...there's so damn many discussions going on that I can't keep up from day to day without going back 3 to 4 pages.  argh.  I miss the old days of the HAMB.  ;-)

Another update from Tom:

Quote
The number of people coming to this VLV has already passed last years totals, so we are very close to selling out. So if you were going to pay for your wristband on arrival at VLV, get there early or you may be out of luck. Here are a few bits on info on this VLV:

CAR SHOW NEWS

The legendary VLV Car Show promises to be better than ever. Our special guests this year are Bo Hopkins and Candy Clark from the movie ‘American Graffitti’. Legendary car builder George Barris is bringing another of his famous movie cars, Greased Lightning.

FOREVER PLAID

The Gold Coast showroom is currently hosting the Broadway production, Forever Plaid. Although this show will be closed during VLV, for those of you getting in early or staying on after VLV, we have good news for you. There will be performances on Wednesday March 23rd and Monday March 28th. Advance tickets can be bought from the Gold Coast box office on 702-251-3574 or Toll Free 1-888-402-6278    Box Office Hours: Daily 10am - 10 pm

VLV 2006

Here are the dates for VLV9 in 2006 – April 13th – 16th 2006. While you are at VLV this year, if you book your wristbands you will receive a FREE VLV CD. You can choose from VLV 4, 5, 6 or 7 CD’s. But this offer is only for those of you who book your VLV9 passes while at VLV8. To get this, please go to our check in on the Sunday between 2pm and 8pm.

BAND NEWS

Due to illness, the following 2 acts are unable to appear at VLV8: Alton & Jimmy, The Planet Rockers. We wish them a speedy recovery. For an up to date timetable of who is playing when, please go to www.vivalasvegas.net and click on BANDS.

VLV MERCHANDISE

This year we will have the broadest range of VLV merchandise ever, but quantities are limited on all items, especially the Tiki Mugs. Other items include ashtrays, license plate frames, coffee mugs, Zippo lighters, temporary tattoos and of course a full range of shirts. The VLV merchandise booth will open at 6pm on the Thursday so to ensure that you get what you want, we suggest buying early.

VLV VENDORS

There is an unbelievable range of vendors at this years VLV.  There are two main areas: the Arizona Room (by the ballroom) and The California Rooms (these are located above the buffet). Hopefully you will find some great buys.

Finally, if you have already booked and not received your booking receipt, please email me at tom@vivalasvegas.net and I will send you a new receipt. But be sure to include your last name so that we can look you up.

Sweatpea is having her party again this year.  3-8pm on Thursday March 24th.  It's at Pink E's which I guess is kitty corner across the street from the Gold Coast.

Ooops forgot to continue...

Eyeball called at 7:20-ish PM last night (Wednesday) and they had just gotten off the plane. The reception in the airport sucked so we were disconnected...

He called again about 9:30 and said that the weather was cool and windy (too damn bad!).

Funny thing...when he booked his and Dallas' rooms he booked them starting the 24th; so those two were out a room for the night. The other boys let them in it sounds like (just more $ he saved for the tatoo).

To be continued...
