By request, Wheel tech.. turn 15" into 16"

Some of you may have seen this on the HAMB. On my Chevy coupe project I want to run '49-'52 style chevy wheels, 15 X 5 on front and 16 X 6 on the rear. Could not find 16 X 6 so I decided to make them. Took a 16 X 6 wheel and cut out the center. Than took the  15 X 5 wheel and chucked it in a lathe and cut it down to fit inside the 16 X 6 rim.

Took a spindle and a hub and mounted on a table and bolted on the cut down 15" wheel. Slide the 16" rim over, set up an dial indicator.

I now have 15 x 5 for the front and 16 X 6 for the rear.

Awesome.  Does it end up fairly balanced then by just using the dial?  Or do you just get lucky, er I mean, just that good of a craftsman?  ;-)

All 4 of the wheels on the mod and the 2 rears on the A roaster have been modified. I have thousands of miles on them and they work fine. I like to think it's craftsmanship but may be it's just luck!!!
