Summer "Driver"
« on: January 16, 2012 3:51 PM »
Since the “A” won't be done this summer, I'm looking for a reliable driver 1964 and older. Not real concerned with body and interior, but don't want a rust bucket. Something safe that will cruise at highway speeds. Any make/model considered. Reasonably priced $5-7 grand range. $100 bill for a successful lead. PM or email me. Thanks...Jake.

A green 1957 Chevrolet 4 door? Repaired the floors, new windshield, new suspension/steering bushings, new WWW tires, etc.

Thanks for the post Pete. Not really interested in a more door unless it's a wagon. Keep your eye out for me though.  Thanks.   Jake

Still looking.

For Tom and anyone else who hasn't seen it yet. 1963 VW convertible. Havin' a blast with it. We drove to Cruisin' Detroit Lakes with it last night. Life is good.

Bobby and I kept wondering why the hell this VW was honking at us at 50s.  Then we saw you and I said, "Oh ya I forgot he got a bug."

You would have tough that those kraut’s would have figured out a way for that top to fold into the car or be able to remove it.
Hope you find the time to work on the "A" again.

My wife has wanted a VW convert for many years. I offered to build one from a sedan with a removable roof...she said NO...it needs to have that roof hanging out the rear! Go figure. So we're having fun with the real thing. And yes the A will get some tender loving care as the year goes on. Would like to have it ready for next spring...time will tell.
