BF Goodrich shoes

So, does anybody know anything about BF Goodrich shoes? I have a pair of 9 1/2's and supposedly they're the first canvas/rubber shoes made. They're in the box brand new. Brown canvas/black rubber sole. Look like converse. A friend of mine told me they were from the 30's/40's. Any info?

I saw some advertisements for them for sale on ebay- but no real mccoy.
