This ones for Joel. I have no idea why the seller thought it was a good idea to take pictures of a $40,000+ car in the shade and the steering wheel is perfectly wrong, its still as good a way to start off the new eBay thread as any..

Drove by the wagon this morning. Sitting at that farmstead west of Purham on #10 at the corner #228. Didn't look too bad from the road.
Maybe he'll swap for a pick-up?? ( or have you sold it )

Not sure how Tom's quote got in there. My post is in the middle. iPad does goofy things in some posts. From the road the '59 looked worth $2000.

Was a cool 1950 Cabin Cruiser with trailer. Needed motor and total resto, but cool nonetheless.
Shouldve saved the pic.

4 bolt wheels and 14", what ever they were on I bet it didn't burn off much rubber. ::)
-
The wheels are from the 60's because of the small inside mount hubcap so possibly mustang/falcon/comet etc. I'm thinking the slicks are old Fargo Tire Co. recap slicks. I had a pair on the Jakester for show the first year and the edge looks right and the small tread towards the outer edge.

I know where you can get a convertible with one if you got $64,000. I'm told that's what 54 convertibles are worth.

53 and 54 buick skylark convertibles are serious high dollar cars...my buddy in pa who works a resto shop has one in the shop and the owner has dropped 50K in it so far...and it isn't done. The specific upholstery fabric was 1700 alone, not including the top material.
There is a good chance the owner will pass away before it is done.

Sorry I should clarify for people who aren't in on the story. The guy who bought the power seat mechanism out of my car has a 54 CHEVY convertible, and while we're looking at my car he is telling me about his, and he goes to me, "you know what those 54 Chevy convertibles are worth?" Me not wanting to offend the guy who's about to give me $400, I avoid answering the question, and he says, "$64,000"
I was right to keep my mouth shut.
-
i am just going to remove my foot from my mouth now..
tok
-
I buy and sell Chevy convertibles for a living........good luck with that.

Tok. Will it make you sick to learn there is a '53 Skylark in a junkyard by Fargo? Cuz there is.
-
Last report I got is it's gone, thankfully sold not crushed. If you're talking about the one at hazers.

It wasn't at Hazers. Its in a private yard.

not sad...glad its still there...wonder if I have pics of the project car somewhere..i will look. It wouldn't happen to have the trim still on it would it?? :):)

Is it a runner or a rebuilder?

rebuilder. He thinks it is stuck - but i think the auto trans needs to be taken off and then seen if it will spin over. We took the carb off to make it easier to lift without damaging it. Also, it doesn't have the side covers. If it had shop space i would get that trans off and then see.
it is heavy though.

For someone in the club with money to fritter away, this would make a great start to a Sueded (read: not within guidlines) pinewood derby car. A track nose would definitely win the cool points.

I'm trying to find my photos but I honestly think that body came from Foreman, ND. If it is that one, and looking it does look like it, it's a hacked up coupester, the white body and the fact that it looks like the doors were welded shut is kinda hinting to me that it is that car. If it is that's a lot of money for it.
-
Well I guess I should read the description, I'm pretty sure that is the body, the doors and trunk weren't "leaded" they were bird shit stick welded shut. I think it was more someone's failed attempt at street rodding, not a stock car.

I've noticed a disturbing trend down here, people are doing one of 3 things with vehicles and parts down here:
1. Pulling numbers out of their ass.
2. Looking up KBB price and tacking on 1-3 grand on top of that price and trying to sell it.
3. Looking up ebay prices and doubling the highest price they've found.
Still a neat trio of Cadillacs

About the only pieces worth anything are the rear bumper, tailgate, hinges and stainless head bolts and the second seat.
